The consciousness of tradition has always been an incitement of the International Obernkirchen Sculptor Symposium.

Today modern - tomorrow already history.

The Museum of Mining and Town History is sited at the Church Square. Among others the museum tells you the story about the Obernkirchen Sandstone, definitely with correlation to the symposium: The stone mason guild did not only use to educate stone masons but also stone sculptors.
